UNEXPECTED RESULTS

On August 28th, 2026, we have a powerful Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse at 5° Pisces, completing the eclipse pair that began with the Total Solar Eclipse in Leo earlier this month.

Eclipses are turning points. They can bring endings, revelations, unexpected developments – moments when something that has been unfolding beneath the surface suddenly becomes impossible to ignore.

And this eclipse has an especially unpredictable quality.

Uranus, the Great Awakener, is a major player here. In Gemini, Uranus can bring new information, a change of perspective, a conversation that shifts everything, or a piece of information that suddenly changes what you thought was possible.

Something may become clear. Something may change direction. Something may end. Or something you never expected may open a completely different door.

The invitation isn’t to predict what happens. It’s to become flexible enough to meet what does.

When the Result Isn’t What You Expected

We like to believe that life works like a formula. If I do this, then that will happen. If I make the right choices, work hard enough, say the right things, heal enough, plan carefully enough – I will get the result I want.

And when we don’t, it can be incredibly disorienting.

We may try harder. Hold on tighter. Convince ourselves the result is still going to change. Or eventually decide that we must have failed somehow.

But what if an unexpected result isn’t necessarily a bad result? What if it’s information?

Perhaps the relationship didn’t become what you hoped. Perhaps the opportunity didn’t work out. Perhaps the plan you carefully built suddenly doesn’t make sense anymore.

The natural response is:

“Why didn’t it work?”

But there is another question you could ask:

“What is this showing me?”

That question creates space. Because sometimes the result isn’t a rejection of you. It’s a course correction.

The Universe Has More Than One Way to Get You There

We often become attached not only to what we want, but to how we believe it needs to happen – the relationship, the career, the home, the creative project. The version of our future that would finally make everything make sense.

And then we mistake the path we imagined for the destination itself.

But life is rarely that linear. There may be another way. A better way. A more aligned way. A direction you couldn’t see from where you were standing.

This is one of the gifts of Uranus. It disrupts our assumptions about what is possible. It can change the information available to us so quickly that we’re forced to see things differently.

What looked like an ending may reveal itself as an opening. What felt like a setback may redirect you somewhere you wouldn’t have thought to go. What seemed like a loss may free you from a path that was never going to take you where you truly wanted to go.

You don’t always need a different destination. Sometimes you need to be willing to take a different route.

Let Your Feelings Give You Information

With the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces, there’s another layer to this process.

Pisces is deeply intuitive. It feels what the rational mind cannot always explain. And when something unexpected happens, feelings may rise before understanding does.

Disappointment. Grief. Anger. Relief. Fear. Excitement.

Don’t rush to make them disappear.

Your feelings are not necessarily telling you what to do. But they may be telling you something worth knowing.

Instead of asking yourself to immediately “move on,” try having a conversation with what you’re feeling. What is the disappointment protecting? What is the anger pointing toward? What does the relief reveal? What does the fear need?

There can be precious information hidden inside an emotional response – not because every feeling is an objective truth, but because every feeling carries information about your inner world.

Listen before you decide.

When the Path Changes

Eclipses are often described as karmic turning points, because they can move us beyond a version of life that has run its course.

This doesn’t always happen dramatically. Sometimes the shift is simply a realisation. You suddenly understand something you couldn’t see before. A truth becomes obvious. A pattern becomes impossible to repeat.

You realise that what you thought you wanted isn’t actually what you want anymore. Or you finally see another possibility.

This Lunar Eclipse completes the eclipse story that began earlier this month. The Leo Solar Eclipse asked:

What is ready to emerge when you release what no longer lights your heart?

Now Pisces asks:

Can you trust what emerges, even if it doesn’t look like what you expected?

That is the deeper surrender. Not giving up. Not becoming passive. But releasing the need to control the exact shape of the outcome.

August 2026 Full Moon in Pisces: Unexpected Results

The August 2026 Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse invites you to become curious about the results you receive, rather than immediately judging them.

If something doesn’t go according to plan, pause. Before deciding that you failed, ask:

  • What is this result trying to show me?
  • What information have I gained that I didn’t have before?
  • What if this is a redirection rather than a rejection?
  • Is there another way forward that I haven’t considered?
  • What are my feelings telling me about what really matters?

You don’t have to understand everything immediately. You don’t have to know where the new path leads. And you certainly don’t have to force an unexpected result into the story you had already written.

Sometimes the most important information arrives disguised as something we didn’t ask for.

So if this eclipse surprises you, breathe. Listen. Stay curious. And leave a little room for the possibility that life may know another way.

The unexpected isn’t always taking you away from where you’re meant to be.

Sometimes it is the very thing that finally shows you the way there.

With love and care,

Ester
