Balance in relationships.

On the 16th of April, there is a Full Moon in Libra, the first Full Moon of the spring. Libra is the sign of balance and relationships, ruled by Venus. This is a Full Moon to clarify relationships, how you relate to others and whether it is in balance.

Full Moons happen when the Sun and the Moon are in opposition in the sky. In this Full Moon in Libra, the Moon is in the sign of Libra (the other) and the Sun is in the opposite sign of Aries (the sign of the self) .

Full Moons are times of culmination, manifestation when things are revealed and gain clarity on what needs to be released.

Darkness

Joining this lunation will be Pluto (in a T-square), the dark lord of transformation, bringing a lot of intensity and tension to an already emotional Full Moon in Libra.

Pluto also brings to light what is hidden and digs in the secrets of the shadow to empower you because only what is being brought to light can be dealt with. Pay attention to the revelations.

Not only the Moon will be opposing the Sun in Aries, but also Eris, sister of Mars and goddess of discord. She stands in her power and asks you to do the same. She won’t stand for being ignored, put aside or unconsidered, and wants her voice to be heard and counted.

This explosive combination also means strong, angry feelings coming to the surface, bringing up issues you can no longer stand in relationships.

Balance

While all those dark energies are at play at the Full Moon, there is also light to balance it out.

Venus, the ruler of this Full Moon in Libra, is exalted in Pisces, bringing harmony, creative, sensitive and mystical energy.

Also, in Pisces, there is the Jupiter and Neptune conjunction adding more spiritual and sensitive energy and feelings of compassion.

While it is important to speak up in relationships, can you do it with assertive kindness?

Can you honour the self (Aries) while honouring the other (Libra)? It is not a choice; it is an opportunity for a compromise that includes the other and you.

In any relationship, you always need both parts to be willing to compromise, to find a place where both can stand. To find a way to hold hands together that is in balance, empowering, supportive and brings growth for the I, the other – and the relationship.

Release

If you want to balance your needs and the other’s, both parties need to speak up. A good starting point is to know your needs, share them without imposing, and be open to finding a way to make them work with the needs of the other.

Are you afraid of speaking up?
What patterns of behaviour in your relationships do you need to release?
What relationships are no longer supportive?

Eclipse season is around the corner; what do you want to leave behind for good? What do you want to carry with you into the future?

At the time of the Full Moon in Libra, Mercury (the mind) and Uranus (new) will be conjunct in Taurus (worth); expect new ideas and significant insights supporting your sense of value and helping you decide what should stay and what should go.

You have two weeks until the next New Moon to do so.

Also, use the next two weeks to focus on completing projects rather than starting new ones.

Until then, take care.
